Satan fights for the soul of man so how do we work out our own salvation by being sanctified?
Sanctification is a 3 Stage Process – Past, Present and Future
Past / Positional Sanctification
It is the Initial moral change of a Christians life. A breaking away from the power of sin. Dead to sin but alive to God. (Rom 6:11) Slavery to righteousness. (Rom 6:17-18)
is the fact that God declares a Christian to be absolutely holy the moment he or she believes in Jesus Christ. When God looks at a Christian, He sees the righteousness and holiness of Christ.
Present / Progressive Sanctification
It takes a lifetime to complete. We grow in grace becoming more like Jesus. (2 Cor 3:18) It occurs in a process of daily spiritual renewal. (Col 3:10) We press on like Paul to attain perfection. (Phil 3:12)
The process of progressive sanctification is described in (Galatians 5:19-23). Progressive sanctification is the journey of producing less and less of the acts of the sinful nature (Galatians 5:19-21) and more and more of the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Progressive sanctification is a process empowered by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18) and enabled through prayer and the study of God’s Word. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) tells us, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Future / Ultimate Sanctification Happens when we die. (1 John 3:2) Our spirits will be with Christ. (2 Cor 5:6-8) Nothing unclean buy CBD products enter heaven (Rev 21:27) we must be made perfect at that point. This will complete the sanctification of the whole triune man. (Spirit, Soul, Body) When Jesus returns we receive our Glorified bodies. (Phil 3:21) (1 Cor 15:35-49)
Progressive sanctification deals with the present here and now.
Our role in sanctification is both passive and active. Passively, we are to trust God to sanctify us, presenting our bodies to God (Romans 6:13; 12:1) and yielding to the Holy Spirit. “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified” (1 Thessalonians 4:3), and God will have His way.
Actively, we are responsible to choose to do what is right. “Each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable” (1 Thessalonians 4:4). This involves putting to death the “misdeeds of the body” (Romans 8:13), striving for holiness (Hebrews 12:14), fleeing immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18), cleansing ourselves from every defilement (2 Corinthians 7:1), and making every effort to supplement our faith (2 Peter 1:5-11).
Both the passive role and the active role are necessary for a healthy Christian life. To emphasize the passive role tends to lead to spiritual laziness and a neglect of spiritual discipline. The end result of this course of action is a lack of maturity. To emphasize the active role can lead to legalism, pride, and self-righteousness. The end result of this is a joyless Christian life. We must remember that we pursue holiness, but only as God empowers us to do so. The end result is a consistent, mature Christian life that faithfully reflects the nature of our holy God.
John makes it clear that we will never be totally free from sin in this life (1 John 1:8-10). Thankfully, the work God has begun in us He will finish (Philippians 1:6).
There are different rates of progressive sanctification otherwise we would all be made perfect together. What then can we conclude as to the nature of what makes the process of sanctification accelerate or quantum leap while others seem to slow down or fizzle out all together?
What is Faith?
Without Faith it is impossible to please God. (Heb 11:6)
Faith comes by HEARING and UNDERSTANDING the WORD OF GOD. (Rom 10:17)
Now Faith is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for. (Heb 11:1)
The Word became FLESH and dwelt for a while among us. (John 1:14)
If we are to work out our own Salvation with fear and trembling then we need to do so by walking by Faith so that we continue to please God. We can also deduce that the SUBSTANCE of our Faith is JESUS CHRIST. Therefore without Christ it is impossible to please God which then demands an action of believing that culminates in a buy CBD products with Jesus Christ through the empowering of the Holy Spirit. We learn to snuggle and not struggle and so Sanctification begins to take place as we develop our relationship with the God head through the 5 Faith Catalysts which are, Personal Ministry, Practical Teaching, Pivotal Circumstances, Providential Relationships, Private Disciplines. The result of which causes us to stay focused on Redeeming Souls, Rebuilding Lives, Reshaping Communities and Reproducing Leaders.
Jesus must remain the center of everything we say and do. It is through this relationship that the Fruit of the Holy Spirit as well as the Gifts of the Holy Spirit are made manifest in our lives moving us further away from the trappings of sin and into a sanctified abundant life. The intimacy of relationship through the Holy Spirit with Christ denotes the intensity at which sanctification takes place. If there is no relationship with Christ then very little if any sanctification taking place.
