Def: Gods unmerited favor, towards Mankind, in the Gift of His Son.

Grace had “Many Meanings”, but only when Christ came, did the word Grace take on its full meaning; in “His Self Sacrifice.” (2 Cor 8:9) This Grace is absolutely free. (Rom 6:14)(Rom 5:15-18)(Eph 1-7)(Eph 2:8-9)

When Grace is received by the Believer, it governs His spiritual life, by compounding favor upon favor.
It i) Equips
ii) Strengthens
iii) Controls all phases of his life (2 Cor 8:6-7) (Cor 4:6) (2 Thess 2:16) (2 Tim 2:1)

Consequently the Christian gives thanks to God for the riches of grace in His unspeakable Gift.(2 Cor 9:15)

Sovereign Grace:
1. In order to receive it, man must “believe”.
2. In order to enjoy it, man must “be obedient”.

Gods Grace Provides:
1. Acceptance. (Rom 3:24)
2. Enablement. (Col 1:29)
3. A New Position. (1 Pet 2:5,9)
4. An Inheritance. (Eph 1:3,14)

3 Motives As to Why God Acts in Grace: (Especially in Salvation).
i) He does it to express His Love. (Eph 2:4)(John 3:16)
ii) To be able to display His grace in ages to come. (Eph 2:9)
iii) And that redeemed Man would produce good works. (Eph 2:10)

Sovereign grace is always purposeful, for the life under grace is good works.
“Grace is Gods Part – Faith is Ours”.

NB!! Faith never makes what is in the Heart its object, but always Gods revelation of Himself in Grace.
